Ancient City Poets announced to St. Augustine local news reporters that they will present an Open Mic Program with host Chris Bodor of the Outsider Writer Collective and are inviting Historic City News readers.
Heart Pour Sunday Matinee, a spoken word series that has been running in St. Augustine since August of 2009, will hold their seventh gathering on March 28th at 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at City Coffee Co located at 1280-A North Ponce De Leon Boulevard in Saint Augustine.
Bodor, who is a member of the St. Johns Cultural Council, told Historic City News, “This spoken word series provides a warm and support atmosphere for all.”
The audience can bring poems, quotes, or very short prose pieces (no more than 300 words) to be read on the theme of work and the work experience. No slam poetry please.
“New writers who are searching for their voices are especially invited to come up to share their words,” Bodor said.
