The St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Council have invited all Historic City News readers to come hear what the region’s experts have to say about job creation in the new economy.
Tara Howard reported to the St. Johns County local news desk that attendees will have an opportunity to participate in an interactive discussion with guest speakers Bruce Ferguson, President and CEO of WorkSource, and, Jerry Mallot, President of Cornerstone Regional Development Partnership.
Ferguson leads a workforce system consisting of eight One-Stop Career Centers and a Business Services Center within a six-county region of Northeast Florida. He has over 16 years of experience in workforce development and is very involved with economic development entities and Chambers of Commerce in Northeast Florida; acting as a catalyst in forming strong relationships with these vital partners.
Mallot oversees strategy for economic development in Northeast Florida, directing a staff of 15 in the areas of Business Development, Marketing, Business Expansion, Workforce Development and Business Intelligence. A leader in state economic development, Mallot focuses primarily on the expansion and relocation of headquarters to the Jacksonville area.
The Membership Luncheon is scheduled for Monday, February 22, 2010, at 11:30 a.m. in the St. Johns County Convention Center at World Golf Village.
Seats are $37.00 for Chamber members or $42.00 for non-members. Chamber members may reserve a table with signage and special recognitions for $400.00.
