Historic City News reporters observed that the City of St. Augustine Department of Public Works is continuing to make sidewalk improvements along Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue.
Thus far, no road closure have occurred, however, there continue to be brief interruptions in sidewalk use where the work is being performed.
Before the project is complete, there will be both repairs and new construction along the city right-of-way.
St. Augustine Public Information Coordinator Cathy DuPont said, “The work is expected to be completed by the end of the year.”
The City made no comment about the sign erected at the scene of the recent work which names Errol Jones as Vice Mayor as well as Bill Leary as commissioner. Don Crichlow was commissioner when Jones was Vice Mayor. Since Leary has been commissioner, Leanna Freeman has been Vice Mayor.
Like they say, “success has many fathers”.
