Marshal Service joins FBI in search for Tavar

According to information received by the Sheriff’s Office and delivered to local Historic City News reporters, investigators from Richland County, S.C. have located the second dog belonging to a missing North Beach woman, Brittany Jeniveve Tavar.

Tavar was known to have two dogs. July 10th, Tavar’s first dog was discovered and identified using an embedded micro chip. The second dog, a Bichon Frise, was located nearby — soon after the first dog was recovered.

After hearing news accounts of the discovery of the first dog and the report that Tavar had gone missing, police say the finder took the animal to Battle Animal Care Clinic, in Hopkins South Carolina — where veterinary staff successfully scanned for a micro chip and determined that the dog belong to the missing woman.

Both dogs were recovered from areas near the roadway and were being held for safekeeping.

The U.S. Marshal Service and The Federal Bureau of Investigation have joined in the investigation as the search continues for 45 year-old Brittany Jeniveve Tavar and 26 year-old Joseph Dean Roberts.
