Historic City News readers are invited to celebrate National Estuaries Day from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25th at the GTM Research Reserve’s Environmental Education Center, located at 505 Guana River Road in Ponte Vedra Beach.
In honor of the nationwide event, a multitude of activities focusing on the importance of estuaries are planned for the entire family to enjoy. Included in the festivities will be presentations by the nationally-recognized group of professional puppeteers “The Puppet People”, best known for their people-sized puppets.
Other activities throughout the day will be outdoor Family Estuary Explorer, Discovery Room, Hands on Science Fun, kids crafts and games, live animals, research activities and information, marsh observation stations and more.
Admission is $5 per person; children age 3 and under are free. All event proceeds will be used to support the education, research and stewardship programs of the Reserve.
Food will also be available for purchase from Hot Diggity Dawgs.
