In an e-mail to local reporters with Historic City News, St. Francis House Executive Director Renee Morris said, “Thank you to everyone for making the 7th Annual A Nite At The Races an amazing event this year.”
“Attendance was double to that of last year,” Morris said. “In addition, there were more prizes and chances to win for all.”
Morris gave special credit to the charity event organizer and board member, Ginny Leveto.
“Thanks to her and her wonderful volunteer team,” Morris said, “we sold all the races and horses as well as had fabulous door prizes, prize baskets and race prizes. Oh, and we can’t forget the silent auction and 50/50.”
Morris praised Anthony Thrush, who she says did a great job as “Master of Ceremonies” and thanked him for his enthusiasm and sharp MC skills.
“As always,” Morris told us, “we are grateful to the Elks Lodge for hosting the event and their continued support.”
