Oxycodone possession leads to arrest

Posted on 02/12/2010 By Historic City News

Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department reports to the local news desk that while patrolling the area of South Dixie and Marion, Corporal Tim Bryan observed an older model Chevy with an expired tag; traveling northbound.

The Corporal conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver; identified as 30 year-old Tabitha Renee Hairston who resides at 1990 Powell Road in Saint Augustine.

When asked by police if she had anything illegal in her car, she stated “no” and gave officers permission to search.

Police found a plastic bag containing 6 blue pills in the center console of the vehicle. The pills were identified as Oxycodone. Hairston did not have a prescription for the pills.

Hairston was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription. After her first appearance hearing yesterday, she was released on $500 bond.
