Local St. Augustine news reporters were asked to support a new after-school workshop being undertaken by the Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition.
The after-school program, available for working homeless families in transition, has a need for percussion instruments to be used in their workshop.
Jacquelyn R. Harris-Rude, President of Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County, asked Historic City News readers able to make donations to drop them off at the Coalition’s Transitional Housing Office located at 62 Chapin Street in St. Augustine.
“We are in need of musical cowbells, agogo bells, drums, drum sticks, shakers, maracas, tambourines and clave sticks,” Harris-Rude said. “Thank you for your help.”
The objective of the Emergency Services and Homeless Coalition of St. Johns County is to facilitate and coordinate the provision of emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing as well as information and referral services for homeless persons and persons at risk of homelessness who are employed in St. Johns County.
