Public Affairs Specialist Karen Pan informed Historic City News local St. Johns County news reporters that the hours of operation at the St. Johns County Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road transfer stations will be reduced on Saturdays starting October 2, 2010.
The new Saturday hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., representing a three-hour reduction of service. The Monday-Friday hours of operation will remain 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
This reduction will contribute to operational efficiencies with minimal disruption in service.
Trends show very little use by residents in the afternoons at either transfer station. Operating efficiently is an ongoing goal of the County, and cutting back three hours on Saturdays achieves this goal.
The two St. Johns County transfer stations, operated by the Solid Waste Management Division, continue to offer many great services. St. Johns County residents may bring all household garbage, hazardous waste and white goods to either of the transfer stations for disposal during operating hours.
The new operating hours at both transfer stations are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
