Democratic gubernatorial candidate Alex Sink tells Historic City News that she has picked up endorsements from St. Johns County Commissioners Phillip J. Mays, who represents District 4, and Ken Bryan, who represents District 5.
“I’m supporting Alex Sink for Governor because of her integrity and no nonsense style of leadership,” Mays said in a statement e-mailed by the Sink campaign. “Alex doesn’t bother with partisanship; she is focused on doing what’s best for Florida.”
Mays, who was never elected to office, has been on the commission since being appointed by Republican-turned-Independent Governor Charlie Crist in 2008. He’s a Ponte Vedra Beach resident and Senior Managing Director for GlassRatner Advisory and Capital Group.
Bryan has been on the commission since registering as a Republican in 2008. He was defeated just two years earlier when he ran for the commission as a Democrat.
