St. Johns County Sheriff David B. Shoar told Historic City News local reporters that his office is now available on Facebook — the popular social networking website.
“This is another tool that we can implement to foster better communication with the communities we serve,” Shoar said.
Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sergeant Chuck Mulligan said, “With Facebook, we will have the availability to send written community safety messages, video public service announcements and other important information to our visitors, citizens and others.”
Shoar says, “The sheriff’s office has incorporated Facebook into our daily operations.”
Mulligan said that those who are interested in joining The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page can find a link on their website (http://sjso.org/) or simply visit http://www.facebook.com/pages/Saint-Augustine-FL/St-Johns-County-Sheriffs-Office/115008325189585 while logged in to your Facebook account.
