The consent agenda for Monday night’s St. Augustine City Commission meeting is a long as the schedule of items to come before the Board, according to the agenda received by the local news desk of Historic City News on Friday.
The Commission has been notified of one term vacancy on the Code Enforcement, Adjustments and Appeals Board; created due to the resignation of Gary McMahon. The Commission has also been notified of one term vacancy on the Planning and Zoning Board; created due to the resignation of William (Bill) Leary.
Leary is rumored to be planning a bid for one of the two City Commission seats that will come before the voters this fall. McMahon has twice run, unsuccessfully, for a St. Johns County Commission seat. No word on his interests in one of the two highly contested races there.
On the regular agenda, there will be an introduction and consideration of Ordinance 2010-09, amending Section 28-31 of the Code of the City of St. Augustine to require amendments to applications relevant to public hearings, that they be submitted at least ten (10) days prior to hearing. On second reading and public hearing; Ordinance 2010-08, temporarily amending City Code Section 4-3, regulating the sale, service and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
