Historic City News has learned that last night deputies arrested 34 year-old William Brian Fleming, son of Flagler County Sheriff Donald W. Fleming, and he is charged with possession of a controlled substance — without a prescription.
Fleming, of Palm Coast, was arrested following a 5:00 p.m. traffic stop on Palm Harbor Parkway and Colorado Drive in Palm Coast. Deputies reported he had five Xanax pills in a cigarette package. Fleming did not have a prescription for the drugs.
He was transported to the Flagler County Inmate Facility where he was being held Friday morning in lieu of $1,000.
“This is an issue that my family is dealing with, much like other families around the country. I will continue my pilgrimage to stop the proliferation of pill mills in Flagler County and across the state. As unfortunate as this incident is, his arrest may save his life,” said Sheriff Fleming.
