Historic City News has learned that the City of St. Augustine’s Street Tree Advisory Committee is expanding its membership and scope.
The committee’s mission statement is “to provide environmentally sound and cost-effective recommendations for the protection, maintenance and replacement of trees and plant materials in the City of St. Augustine public areas.”
Any resident who would like to join the Street Tree Advisory Committee is welcome to participate. At least four meetings are held a year and more as determined by the membership.
A subcommittee on beautification will also be formed for the purpose of encouraging residents and businesses to adopt environmentally sound projects which will enhance the aesthetics of the city. Awards will be given.
Anyone interested in membership on the committee and/or subcommittee are asked to contact Gina Burrell at 825-6746
