The Lincolnville Heritage Festival originally started in 1979 by Jazz musician Doug Carn and businessman Christopher Lightburn to help fund Lincolnville Restoration Development Inc, with the aim of preserving and restoring the area of Lincolnville which is rich and heritage and history.
Doug Carn went on to pursue his musical career and the festival’s reigns were taken up by local musician and businessman, Lorenzo Laws.
The festival continued and eventually in 1988, Laws chartered Lincolnville Festival Committee, Inc., which continues to run the festival to this day.
The festival has been moved through several locations throughout the years and returns this year to Francis Field. Proceeds from the event will continue to support the rich history of Lincolnville and Fort Mose.
“We look forward to a great weekend of large national musical acts, gospel choirs, soul food, BBQ, vendors, games, hot air balloon rides and so much more,” Moran said.
