St. Augustine Police Officer Jessica Pedonti responded to a call from a North Whitney Street resident this weekend concerning a burglary at their home; according to a report received by the St. Augustine local news desk at Historic City News.
The homeowner told police that someone attempted to pry open the door to their house and successfully broke into the closet in the carport.
Reported stolen was a Torra weed eater (valued at approximately $200) and a Milwaukee sawsall (valued at approximately $200).
While in the carport, the burglar entered the homeowner’s unlocked vehicle and stole the CD stereo system (valued at approximately $200).
The cost to repair the back door to the house is valued at approximately $100.
Community Affairs Officer Barbara Clifford of the St. Augustine Police Department reports that the investigation is ongoing.
