Sacha Martin reported to Historic City News that tomorrow and Friday, Vilano Beach will host meetings for the Waterfronts Florida Program at the Hampton Inn & Suites Oceanside located at 95 Vilano Road in Vilano Beach.
Vilano Beach will be showing off their Town Center infrastructure to participants coming from Ft. Myers, Ft. Walton Beach, Fernandina Beach, Mayport, Milville, Bagdad and Eau Gallie.
The Waterfronts Florida Program provides technical assistance from the Florida Department of Community Affairs.
Vilano Beach was granted status as a Waterfronts Florida Community in 1999 and is considered a model for the rest of the state.
Presentations will be made by speakers from The Florida Department of Community Affairs, Florida Department of Elder Affairs, Milton Main Street, Blackwater River Foundation, University of Florida Conservation Clinic, Florida Inland Navigation District, St. Augustine Port & Waterway, St. Johns County Community Redevelopment Agency and the A1A Scenic Highway and Byway program.

Thursday – 11:00 a.m.
Registration, Lunch at Kingfish Grill, tour of Vilano Beach Town Center and North Coastal Corridor Overlay District area and A1A Scenic & Historic Coastal Byway where grants have funded many of the public facilities, with a guided tour of the Environmental Education Center.
Thursday – 3:15 p.m.

Friday – 8:00 a.m.
Introduction of dignitaries and participants, “Vilano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Activities”, “Maritime Infrastructure Planning”, “Funding, Enhancing, and Protecting Marine Resources”, “Community Roundtable Discussion”.
