We’ve spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy in the name of “Homeland Security” and all we know how to do is to react to things that have already happened.
At 82 years-old, Lee Iacocca wrote in his new book that he thinks everyone’s hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping the government will make it better for them.
Iacocca is asking where all the leaders have gone. “Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?”
I couldn’t agree more, and, frankly, I don’t believe there is one scintilla of evidence, ten years later, that proves we are any safer than we were on September 11, 2001.
