Assessing the need for county health services

Posted on 01/27/201101/27/2011 By Historic City News

The St. Johns County Health and Human Services Advisory Council is asking local Historic City News readers to help them assess the health and human service needs in our community.

If you are a full or part-time resident of St Johns County, please complete the brief survey at this link.

The survey can also be submitted at any St. Johns County Public Library. The deadline to complete the survey is February 7, 2011.

In 1995, the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners determined that, while they do provide health and human services, government on the county level cannot, and, should not, attempt to solve all health, mental health, substance abuse and social problems.

With that said, the commissioners established the St. Johns County Health and Human Services Advisory Council. Members of the Advisory Council review funding applications from local independent agencies that provide services to the residents of St. Johns County and forward their funding recommendations to the County Commission for approval.
