Traffic Homicide Investigator, Deputy J.D. McGinnis, tells Historic City News that after forensic examination of debris collected at Wednesday’s crash site on SR-214, the vehicle that struck and killed 23 year-old Bryan B. Wrigley is a Ford pickup truck.
Photographs shown in the gallery below indicate a close approximation of the style and color vehicle that would match the crime scene evidence analyzed.
Law enforcement officers across the area are searching for a 2001 – 2003 model dark metallic blue colored Ford Ranger – extended cab pickup truck. The debris indicated this pickup truck would have been factory equipped with fog lights molded into the front bumper.
The assailant’s pickup truck was last seen turning south onto CR-13 from CR-214 by a witness who gave deputies details and a description that McGinnis says, “is consistent with the evidence at the scene”.
The witness said that there was apparent damage to the truck. McGinnis said the vehicle is believed to have sustained a degree of front-end damage sufficient to render it disabled. The vehicle is most likely leaking fluids. The witness described the driver as a white male — possibly in his 20′s.
McGinnis reports that damage to the vehicle involved should be apparent in the area of the front driver’s side bumper and headlight.
