The National Park Service says that they are not certain whether bones discovered outside the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument are human or not, however, samples have been sent for forensic identification.
According to one local television station, a family visiting the fort today made the unusual find.
There are no details being reported at this time other than the fact that the discovery was made and to verify that the Park Service has collected the bones and sent them off for testing.
It may take some time for results of the identification process to be known. Historic City News sent a request for any additional information that may be available which we will release upon receipt.
