Historic City News was on hand when the St. Johns County Commission began their meeting this morning by offering a special recognition to county employee Brandon Estes.
Estes, who works for St. Johns County Fire Rescue, was recognized for service to our country during his recent tour of active military duty in Afghanistan.
Commission Vice-Chairman, Mark P. Miner, who returned from his second Middle East deployment last month, said that Estes’ is a great soldier. Miner served as a non-commissioned officer in the 2-124th Infantry Battalion’s Operations Section; where he was assigned to a Tactical Operations Center most of the year he was deployed. “Essentially I was a shift supervisor in the Tactical Operations Center,” Miner told Historic City News Editor Michael Gold. Estes served in areas of heightened conflict.
Fire Rescue Chief Robert V. Hall, Jr., praised Estes during the presentation of a certificate of recognition on behalf of the Board.
