Celebration of Menorcan Culture

Historic City News readers are invited to attend the annual Menorcan Society Festival in the Llambias House gardens and courtyard Saturday

This year’s celebration features the foods and history of this hardy people who became residents of St. Augustine in the late 1700’s.

Since the Menorcan’s settled here — mullet netting, dancing and storytelling have all become a major part of our culture.

Menorcan (sometimes spelled Minorcan) traditional foods include sausage, chicken and shrimp pilau, as well as clam chowder and baked goods.

A featured display of Menorcan Family crests will be on view in the gardens of the Llambias House and St. Francis Gardens.

No admission will be charged.
