Historic City News reporters will be observing, as three proposed ordinances may become law in St Augustine following a second reading before the members of the City Commission and public hearing scheduled Monday night.
First to be heard is an ordinance regarding the mooring field pilot program; already underway.
The second two ordinances relate to persons soliciting in traffic lanes, obstructing traffic and distracting drivers.
Proposed Ordinance 2011-24, would amend City Code Section 24-14 prohibiting sales and solicitations in traffic lanes.
Proposed Ordinance 2011-27, would amend City Code Section 18-56 relevant to obstructing traffic and public safety issues associated with distracted driving.
If you are planning to attend — the regular St. Augustine City Commission meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. Monday and will be held in the Alcazar Room; on the first floor of City Hall, located at 75 King Street in St. Augustine. It will be broadcast live on Comcast Government TV (Cable Channel 3) and is streamed over the Internet.
