The St. Augustine Police Department informed local Historic City News reporters that, in conjunction with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration, they will be conducting a Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative this Saturday.
You can bring your unused and unwanted prescription drugs to the St. Augustine Police Department lobby at 155 King Street and dispose of them with a police officer, no questions asked.
The collection will begin Saturday, April 30, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
The prescription drugs will be picked up by the DEA and destroyed.
Last year’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Initiative collected over 121 tons of unused and unwanted prescription drugs from over 4000 sites nationwide.
