Contest to determine longest married couple

Owner Dae Lynn Helm told Historic City News that the Wildflower Cafe would like to celebrate Valentine’s dinner with the longest married couple living in St. Johns County; by providing dinner for the two on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.

“We want to honor a couple who has remained together, for better and for worse, and provide some inspiration to other couples on Valentine’s Day,” Helm said. “Over the past five years, we have met couples with fabulous love stories that demonstrate that love can survive many obstacles.”

If you or someone you know has been married for more than 50 or 60 years, Helm said you can obtain a contest nomination form by visiting the Wildflower Café located at 4320 A1A South, in Saint Augustine Beach.

“The winning couple will enjoy Valentine’s dinner for two will include two beverages of the couple’s choice, soup or salad, two dinner entrees and one Valentine’s dessert to share,” Helm said. “The dinners must be redeemed on February 14, 2011. Runner up couples married over 55 years will receive free dessert to share on their wedding anniversary in 2011.”
