St. Johns County spokesman, Rob Weber, has announced to local reporters at Historic City News that applications are currently being accepted for the following Board and Committee vacancies.
Each vacant position advertised has its own specific qualifications and submission deadline.
The various county boards meet with different frequencies, establish their own meeting times and locations.

Contractors Review Board
One (1) Vacancy
Purpose of Committee: Ensure proper administration of contractor licensing and discipline of licensees.
Qualifications: Must be a resident of St. Johns County for at least two years prior to appointment. Seeking licensed plumbing professional.
Meeting schedule: Board meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at 5:00 pm in the County Auditorium, 500 San Sebastian View.
Application Submission Deadline: May 13, 2011.
Historic Resource Review Board
Four (4) Vacancies
Purpose of Committee: Advise the Board of County Commissioners regarding the Historic and Prehistoric Resources of unincorporated St. Johns County; and to identify, evaluate, document, designate and protect these resources.
Qualifications: Seeking appointees qualified through the demonstration of special interest, experience or education in the preservation of the County’s historic resources and those that have practical and professional experience in one or more of the following fields: archaeology, architecture, architectural history, history or historic preservation.
Meeting schedule: This Board meets the 1st Monday of each month at 3:30 pm in the Board of County Commissioners Executive Conference Room, located at 500 San Sebastian View.
