Historic City News readers interested in submitting artwork to be considered for the upcoming Women’s History Month art exhibit, “Much Ado About Women – Portraits of Diversity” must be ready to go by next weekend.
Artwork will be juried on Saturday, February 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the lobby of Holiday Inn & Suites located at 1302 North Ponce De Leon Boulevard in St. Augustine. Entry forms will be filled out and entry fees collected on Saturday, February 26th, only.
Once artwork is accepted, the artist will deliver their artwork to the Limelight Theatre located at 11 Old Mission Avenue; just south of the Holiday Inn & Suites off US-1.
Portraits and self-portraits of women, with an emphasis on diversity, will be the subject of the exhibit. All forms of expression in the visual arts including but not limited to oils, watercolors, acrylics, mixed media, 2 and 3 dimensional pieces, and photography will be accepted.
Works not related to the theme will not be accepted.
An entrance fee of $10 will be collected after the artwork has been accepted.
All work must be framed in a professional way with a wire in place for hanging.
Only one piece of artwork per person will be eligible.
Unless other arrangements have been approved, art must be picked up after 6:00 p.m. on March 27th.
Artists whose work is accepted are requested to bring a simple finger food to the reception on March 6th at the Limelight Theatre.
Money collected will be used to fund the Jr. ROWITA Fellowship to support women high school graduates to pursue further studies in the arts.
