Keeping Northeast Florida beaches barefoot friendly

Aubrey Mulligan, spokesman for the citizen group “Keepers of the Coast”, invited Historic City News readers to volunteer for a public beach cleanup at Mickler’s Landing in Ponte Vedra Beach that is being conducted for two hours on Tuesday afternoon.

Keepers of the Coast is an active community that works together to ensure that the beaches of Northeast Florida remain a beautiful part of the local environment.

This week, they are joined by “Barefoot Wine” who offers fun, flavorful and affordable wine and bubblies, in hosting a public beach cleanup.

“Barefoot Wine is committed to cleaning more than 40 Florida beaches throughout the summer and fall; keeping the beaches clean for all to enjoy,” Mulligan told Historic City News. “Together, we will strive to provide a safe place for coastal residents and future generations.”

A “Barefoot Friendly” beach requires everyone’s help to keep the shorelines clean, Barefoot Wine’s Trevor Gousha said. “Many hands make light work, so, please pitch in.”

Those willing to volunteer should report Tuesday, November 15, between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Mickler’s Landing Beach Park located at the intersection of Ponte Vedra Boulevard and Mickler Road in Ponte Vedra Beach.
