We also learned that Habitat for Humanity is looking for qualified applicants for new homes. For more information, contact the local Habitat for Humanity at (904) 826-3252.
The St. Johns County Housing Finance Authority is constructing new homes under the Community Workforce Housing Innovation Pilot Program; which is for both low and moderate-income families.
Participants in the program receive significant down-payment assistance.
“With today’s low interest rates, this is a great time to purchase a new home,” said Dana Froberg. Interested individuals should contact her at (904) 827-6895 for information on these Energy Star homes with many other features such as structural insulated panels.
County Administrator Michael Wanchick reminds Historic City News readers that they can find affordable housing information, as well as an application for the St. Johns County Homeownership Program, on the County website under the “Housing & Community Services Department” link, or, pick up one at a local library.
