Local Republican Party to elect new secretary

St. Johns County Republican Party Chairman Harlan Mason reported to Historic City News that tomorrow night, the Republican Executive Committee will convene an election to fill the vacancy of Corresponding Secretary.

Mason told Historic City News, “The meeting will get underway at 7:00 PM promptly; we have a full agenda for the evening.”

The Republican Executive Committee of St. Johns County will hold their August meeting on Thursday, August 11th with a social starting at 6:30 PM and the meeting at 7:00 PM at the Conference Center of the Northeast Florida Regional Airport at St. Augustine, located at 4730 Casa Cola Way. This meeting is not sponsored by the Authority, its staff or the Airport.

First will be the election for Corresponding Secretary to fill the seat vacated by the election of Randy Covington to State Committeeman.

The announced candidates to date include:

Pat Greenfield :
PCW and Corresponding Secretary of the Republican Club of Greater St. Augustine

Lilliana Kurpanik :
PCW and current President of the Republican Women’s Club of St. Johns County

The guest speaker will be Senator George Lemieux. Senator Lemieux served two years in the Senate to fulfill the term vacated by Sen. Mel Martinez.

Lastly, the REC has invited any Commissioner who wishes and Administrator Wanchick to discuss the proposed FY 2012 County Budget and the proposed .75 millage rate increase.

This is an important meeting with an exciting speaker and important issues to discuss.

My name is Liliana Kurpanik and I am asking for YOUR vote for the office of Corresponding Secretary of the St. Johns REC.

I have lived in beautiful St. Augustine since 1996. St. Johns County has much to offer the community. We have everything from wonderful beaches, family recreation opportunities and great farming, to one of the most unique downtowns in the country.

Being part owner of Hocevar Video Inc., has enable me to be involved in the community, such as doing pro-bono videos for Betty Griffin House and Habitat for Humanity. We’ve been involved for many years with the Therapeutic Learning Center, helping them (thru a marketing video) achieve their goal of building a new facility. Recently we videotaped & edited the “We are the Arc” campaign for The Arc of St. Johns.

As HVI Production Manager, I have done pre-production logistics prior to doing a video shoot such as scheduling crews, location production scouting, permitting and insurance needs. After being on the shoot site, part of my duties have been video editing, graphic animation, Photoshop & DVD Authoring. I also maintain our 3 video editing systems along side with the 2 other business desktops.

Since the rise of the new social media technology, I have built our company’s website, do SEO (search engine optimization) for our YouTube Channel, and coordinate Hocevar Video’s FaceBook and LinkedIn pages.

As the President of the Republican Women’s Club of St. Johns County, I started and maintain our group’s FaceBook Page and am in the process of launching a website for the organization. On a personal note, I coordinate my own business web page, Webblog, Twitter & FB accounts.

I believe that I have the many years of professional media experience to gather and use all the new technology tools to the REC’s benefit. As your Corresponding Secretary, my energy, passion and enthusiasm, would help propel our REC forward through the challenges the upcoming campaign season may bring.
