Public Information Officer Debra Johnson told Historic City News that deputies in Flagler County are investigating circumstances surrounding a man found on I-95 near the Matanzas Parkway overpass before 4:00 p.m. today.
A man, who says he was traveling to Orlando with companions, was discovered late this afternoon by road workers who reported that the man had been cut several times with a knife.
Deputies said the man suffered several lacerations, but no puncture wounds.
The victim told deputies he was sleeping; then awakened to being cut.
His assailants threw him out of the vehicle near the overpass, he told deputies.
The victim was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A Sheriff’s detective is currently interviewing the victim.
