Missing teen quickly located by Air One
Historic City News was informed that a missing 13 year-old boy who was last seen this afternoon in the back yard of a neighbor’s home, was located by St. Johns County deputies in little more than an hour after his disappearance was first reported.
Benjamin Herskovitz, a 5’ 1” tall, 100 pound boy with brown curly hair and severe autism, was wearing grey pants, but no shirt or shoes, when he jumped the fence and ran off from the home near Pacetti Bay Middle School at about 4:00 p.m.
Herskovitz was located by deputies flying the Sheriff’s Office search and rescue helicopter in heavy woods near the home on Ardmore Street in the World Golf Village area where he disappeared.
Rescue personnel responded as a precaution; however, the teenager was found cold, but unharmed.
