Motorcycle accident at deadly intersection
St Johns County Sheriff’s Traffic Homicide Investigator Joseph D. McGinnis reported to Historic City News that the Traffic Unit responded to the scene of a single-vehicle traffic collision at 9:49 p.m. Wednesday night.
A 2008 Suzuki motorcycle operated by 52 year-old Larry Leon Wall who lives at 3669 1st Street in St. Augustine crashed on South Park Boulevard near the intersection on US-1 South; across from Flagler Hospital.
Wall was taken by air to Shands Hospital Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries. In an update this morning from St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Chuck Mulligan, Historic City News was told that Wall remains in the hospital in critical condition.
The rider was wearing a helmet the time of the crash, but it is unclear if it was properly secured.
Alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash, however, no charges have been filed while the investigation is continuing.
