Renee Stambaugh announced to Historic City News that the Sea Oats Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society will convene in May with a special program entitled “Conservation and Future Water Needs for Floridians”.
The local Sea Oats chapter meets at 7:00 PM on May 17th at the St. Augustine Beach City Hall, 2200 A1A South. There will be door prizes of native plants.
Daniel Hayes, Education Coordinator for the St. Johns River Water Management District, will share the why’s and how’s of creating sustainability through conservation.
“This is directly related to our homes, our landscapes and our pocketbooks”, says Hayes, a native Floridian and former forest ranger for the Florida Division of Forestry.
Admission to this program is free and open to the public.
