Palm Coast Flagler County still highest unemployed

Reporters on the Historic City News desk have learned that despite zero job growth nationwide, unemployment rates fell in roughly two-thirds of large U. S. cities last month.

Based on cities reported to have the highest and lowest unemployment parentage rates in August, the report still holds “bad news” for residents of Flagler County; since Palm Coast is ranked number 10 in the top 10 cities nationwide with the highest unemployment rates.

If out-of-work Palm Coasters are willing to give up the Sunshine State climate, they’ll find single-digit unemployment (and single-digit temperatures) if they relocate to areas like either Bismarck or Fargo, North Dakota, or possibly Rapid City or Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Historic City News took note that the regions with balmy, temperate climates across “the sunbelt” were the highest in terms of unemployed workers — with the exception of Palm Coast and Yuma, Arizona, the remainder of the “top ten highest unemployed cities” are in California.

So, unless you find Houma, Louisiana or Midland, Texas appealing — welcome to the job hunt (and chill factor) in Burlington, Vermont or Portsmouth, New Hampshire.
