Adult Crochet Group
Monday, August 1 @ 6 pm – Adults and teens age 14 and older are invited to attend the Project Lap Blanket crochet group. We will crochet or knit blankets for cancer patients at area hospitals. All skill levels are welcome. Can’t attend? Pick up a pattern at the library, crochet in your spare time and drop it off. Drop off any yarn you’d like to donate during regular library hours.
Children’s Summer Film Festival

Teen Anime Club
Tuesday, August 2 @ 6 pm – Join us for a viewing of a popular anime movie. Refreshments will be provided. Ages 12+
FLYP Ice Cream Party
Wednesday, August 3 @ 2 pm – We’re finishing off our summer programs with an ice cream party for FLYP participants and their families to celebrate a summer of reading. Ice cream and toppings generously supplied by the Friends of the Library.
JEA/Green Team Project Home Energy Audit
Saturday, August 6 @ 11 am – Do you want to reduce your electricity consumption? JEA, in conjunction with the Green Team Project, has provided the library with home energy audit kits that you can check out and take home to determine where you use the most electricity and how to reduce your use. Here we’ll learn about energy conservation and how to use these kits. Please call to register at 904-827-6960.

Here we’ll show you how to navigate around the Internet with your browser, how to bring up a website with a URL, and how to properly print something. Computer Class: “Advanced Word 2003”
Wednesday, August 10 @ 1 pm – Learn about more advanced Word functions such as Find and Replace, adjusting toolbars, bullets and numbering, page numbers, symbols, and footnotes. Please note this is Office 2003. If you have 2007 or 2010 on your computer, it will look different, but the functions are similar. Please call 904-827-6960 for registration information.

Red Cross Class: “Babysitting”
Friday, August 12 @10:30 am to 5:30 pm – Designed for teenagers age 11-15, the American Red Cross offers this course to prepare participants to care for infants and children, make good decisions and solve problems, and help keep the children you babysit safe. Friends of the Library Book Sale
Saturday, August 13 @ 9:30 am – noon – The Friends of the Library will hold the August book sale from 9:30 am to noon. Books of all kinds will be on sale! In addition to books, other items such as DVDs, CDs, VHS tapes, and audio books will be available.

It’s a way to have updates from sites automatically brought together in one spot so you don’t have to check all your favorite sites every single day to see if they’ve added anything new. Wednesday, August 17 @ 12 pm – PowerPoint is a powerful tool for any presentation. In the first half of the class, you’ll learn the basics of creating a slideshow with text and pictures, how to rearrange slides and how to save and print your work.
