Remaining vigilant on anniversary of attacks

Posted on 09/08/2011 By Historic City News 1 Comment on Remaining vigilant on anniversary of attacks

In recognition of the ten-year anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is reminding Historic City News readers to remain vigilant for any activity of a suspicious nature.

Although there are no known terror threats to our community, history, and recent events reported in the news, have reinforced that we must remain vigilant. There still may be individuals and extremist groups that could be planning attacks.

In preparation for the anniversary, law enforcement agencies will continue to be diligent in providing security to those areas that have been identified as being vulnerable.

The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office is working on a daily basis with our partners at the State and federal level to ensure that our community remains safe.

We are requesting any member of the public who may see or hear activity that seems suspicious to call in and report it to local law enforcement as soon as possible.

Stay safe and again, when in doubt, please contact us at (904) 824-8304 for non-emergencies, or, 911 for an actual emergency that is in progress.
