Romanza puts on An Evening of Swing
Join Historic City News as Romanza relives WWII St. Augustine in USO style with its presentation of “An Evening of Swing”.
This big band concert at the Mark Lance National Guard Armory located at 190 San Marco Avenue, will be headlined by the acclaimed 18 piece Florida Swing Orchestra, led by Lisa Kelly and J.B. Scott.
Other highlights are a stirring “Tribute to our Armed Forces” and an exciting swing dance presentation by these highly respected as musical artists, clinicians and mentoring teachers.
“Join us as we step back in time to the 1940’s on Saturday, January 22nd from 7:30 p.m. til 11:00 p.m.,” said Romanza Director Albert Syeles. “Doors open at 7:00 p.m.”

Romanza St. Augustine, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to establish and sustain cultural offerings that enhance both the quality of life for residents and the lasting impression of The Nation’s Oldest City for visitors. An Evening of Swing is supported in part by the St. John’s County Tourist Development Council.
In addition to “An Evening of Swing” on January 22nd, Romanza is also planning “The St. Augustine CELTIC Music and Arts Festival” in mid-March, as well as its major premier international multi-day, multi-arts celebration; centered in historic downtown St. Augustine, during ‘First America’, the upcoming St. Augustine 450th Commemoration, beginning May 2012.

Phebe Wehr, also on the Board of First Coast Opera, a volunteer with Emma, St. Augustine Art Association, Limelight Theater, and formally The Great Connecticut Jazz Festival.
Brian Urquhart, also a volunteer with the St. Augustine Yacht Club and formally co-founder/CFO of several corporations
Michelle Santorelli, Graduate of Flagler College, Leadership Flagler, Society for Advancement of Management
Ron Berry, owner of Lighthouse Marketing; stage performer in Vaudeville, advertising/marketing entrepreneur since 1981.
Nancy Christensen, a performing live fine art portraitist who led cross discipline art workshops and art classes, solo and collaboratively, and developed art class instruction for St. Johns County COA.
Colleen Messner, Owner of The Spice and Tea Exchange of St. Augustine, also Board Member and Member of the Historic Area Historical Chamber Council, Ambassador for the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce. Volunteer on the Home Again St. Johns Coalition Volunteer on several committees for St. Johns County Sea Turtle Preservation.
Bridget L. Van Landingham, Owner of Business Solutions Unlimited – an operations, management, marketing and human resource firm. Operations Specialist with over 15 years experience. Currently serves on numerous boards in the community including St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce and the Early Learning Coalition of Putnam and St. Johns Counties.
