Historic City News readers are invited to attend a mixed media art exhibit produced by St. Johns County employees on display from April 19th through June 15, 2011 in the Rotunda Gallery of the County Administration Building.
“A San Sebastian View”, the newest Art in Public Spaces exhibit, will kick off with an opening reception the morning of April 19, 2011 from 8:15 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.; before the Board of County Commissioners meeting. Light refreshments will be served.
Most people come in contact with a county employee at least once in their lives. We go to them when we have a zoning problem, pay taxes, get a license or to conduct other county business.
The folks behind the desk go about their jobs with nary a hint of what they do in their private lives, leading some of us to wonder, just who are these public servants and what do they do in their spare time? Attend the opening to learn more about the artistic side of eleven of our public servants.
Some of the artists whose works will be on display include: Brad Burchfield (MIS), Mitz Bazzell (SJC Utilities), Janet Keegan (Development Review), Joyce Meyerpeter (Family Integrity Program), and County Administration Mike Wanchick.
Michelle Robideaux-Pent, a former St. Johns County art teacher, served as curator for the show; which also includes works by Lisa Burney (GIS Division), Valerier Pacetti (Development Review), Tom Tibbitts (GIS Division), Cindy Grotz (SJC Extension Service), and Glenn Hastings (Tourist Development Council).
All are current employees of St. Johns County Government.
A San Sebastian View will be on display in the St. Johns County Administration Building, located at 500 San Sebastian Way, off of US1 North, from April 19, 2011 until June 15, 2011; and may be visited anytime the building is open to the public — Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
