Scholarships for Gators interning in DC

Posted on 01/30/201101/30/2011 By Historic City News

Scholarship Chairman Taylor Moulton reported to Historic City News that University of Florida students with internships in the Washington, DC area this year, can apply for one of two $1,500 scholarships to be awarded.

“Scholarships will be awarded to students who clearly demonstrate exceptional academic achievement as well as professional promise and a commitment to community service,” Moulton told Historic City News. “Consideration will be given for the additional financial burden on those who have unpaid internships, but all Gator interns are encouraged to apply.”

Moulton says the DC Gator Club, which is an affiliated organization of the UF Alumni Association, will consider applicants who are interning throughout the DC metro area; including the city of Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia and Maryland.

By no later than April 30, 2011, you must e-mail your unofficial college transcript, one-page resume and completed application — which is available on their website www.dcgators.com. Correspondence regarding your scholarship and the scholarship process should be directed to Taylor Moulton.

Results of the scholarship application will be announced by June 1, 2011. Winners may be asked to send official transcripts before their awards are granted.
