Public Information Officer Debra Johnson told local Historic City News reporters that the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office is participating in the “Click It or Ticket” enforcement campaign going on now through March 31st.
“Flagler County motorists usually buckle up when they are traveling our local roadways. We estimate that we have about an 81 percent compliance with the law, but we have noticed an increase in the amount of crash-related injuries. Most of the injured were not wearing seat belts,” said Flagler County Sheriff Donald W. Fleming.
Motorists are reminded to be sure everyone in their vehicle is wearing a seat belt.
Fines for not wearing a seatbelt are $116 per violation.
