Senior citizen appreciation day Saturday
Linda Murray announced to Historic City News that plans are underway for this weekend’s Senior Citizen Appreciation Day presented by St. Paul AME Church and Christian Men’s Ministry.
This free event will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2011 between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Solomon Calhoun Center located at 1300 Duval Street in St. Augustine.
Eric “Pop” Terry for the Christian Men’s Ministry and Reverend Ron Rawls, pastor of St. Paul AME are serving as coordinators for Saturday’s event.
“We have planned an afternoon of good food, activities and entertainment because you deserve it,” Terry wrote in the invitation to attend the celebration.
Reverend Rawls told Historic City News that Senior Citizen Appreciation Day is being sponsored by Christian Men’s Ministry, St. Paul AME Church and the St. Johns County NAACP. Reservations can be made by calling Linda Murray in the church office at 904 829-3918 anytime Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. and there is still time for your organization to become a sponsor.
