Nancy Sebastian invited Historic City News readers to participate in KinderVision’s fourth annual “The Greatest Save” celebrity experience; helping to protect Northeast Florida’s children from sexual exploitation and abduction.
Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association, partners with KinderVision in presenting the yearly event, have announced the September 24th through 26th weekend itinerary:
Saturday: 1pm – 4 pm – FREE baseball clinic coached by retired MLB players and KVKids
Safety Event at Jackie Robinson Stadium (Daytona Cubs ballpark) in Daytona Beach.
Saturday: 6pm – 8 pm – Legends of Baseball game at Jackie Robinson Stadium featuring
Hall of Famers, All-Stars and other former MLB players.
Sunday: 5pm – 8pm – “The Greatest Save” Banquet at the Hammock Beach Resort,
hosted by Hall of Fame member Rollie Fingers, with reception, silent and live auction,
Hall of Fame Q & A, dinner, autographed baseball, and more.
Monday morning: “The Greatest Save” Celebrity Golf Benefit at Hammock Beach Resort
including an MLB Celebrity in every golf group, lunch, and awards.
St. Johns County Sheriff’s spokesman Kevin Kelshaw, a supporter of the program that protects children and teens, told Historic City News local reporters that many new activities have been added this year, making the weekend even more memorable.
“Along with the annual golf and banquet,” Kelshaw said, “a free baseball clinic for youngsters and a Legends of Baseball Exhibition Game have been added.”
Past attendees include Hall of Fame members Steve Carlton, Harmon Killebrew, Phil Niekro, Ferguson Jenkins and Gaylord Perry and more than thirty other retired players annually.
Listen to them share stories from their careers, bid on one of a kind silent auction items, secure autographs, and make a memory that will last a lifetime – all while helping to keep kids safe.
