Trailer – vehicle rollover in CR-13A accident

Deputies from the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit responded to a single vehicle rollover crash at 5:45 p.m. yesterday evening.

The investigation revealed that a 2002 Ford Explorer was being driven by 24 year-old Kevin Smith of St. Augustine along CR-13A; approximately 2 miles North of CR-214 when the collision occurred.

Smith, and four passengers, were traveling northbound on CR-13A with a 1993 Ford Pick-up in-tow on a vehicle trailer.

All a result of the collision, three of the four passengers were transported by St. Johns County Fire-Rescue to Flagler Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One passenger who appeared to have more serious injuries, was transported to Shands Jacksonville by Air-Ambulance, as a precaution, and was later released.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
