Warrant sweep targets narcotics dealers

Posted on 04/13/201104/13/2011 By Historic City News

Sheriff David B. Shoar informed Historic City News local reporters and media today that the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit held an arrest warrant sweep this morning — looking to net over twenty alleged narcotics dealers.

Armed with multiple arrest teams and corrections vans for transportation to the St. Johns County Detention Facility, the arresting officers brought suspects to an area in St. Augustine on Masters Drive near Joe Pomar Park for initial processing; including preliminary identification and warrant verification.

Those arrested in this morning’s sweep began showing up to be processed beginning at 11:00 a.m.

“Names, charges and booking photographs will be available to Historic City News later today,” Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Charles E. Mulligan said.

The warrants served allege a variety of criminal acts involving the illegal sale and distribution of controlled substances occurring in St. Johns County.
