Yard worker arrested for burglary and theft

Historic City News was notified that a 35 year-old St. Johns County man was arrested on burglary and other charges shortly before 5:00 p.m. Tuesday after deputies responded to a burglar alarm call at a residence on Moses Creek Boulevard discovered the man inside.

The suspect, identified as Kevin Wayne Fralix who lives at 150 Bella Terra, was charged with burglary to a dwelling and dealing in stolen property. He remains in the St. Johns County Jail in lieu of bonds totaling $8,500.

Upon arrival at the scene, Deputy Steve Fischer reported observing a white truck parked in front of the residence with no one nearby. In the bed of the truck was a Honda ATV. A computer check revealed that the ATV had been reported stolen from South Carolina.

Fischer walked around the home and did not detect any broken windows or other signs of forced entry. When Fischer peered into one of the windows, he observed a man running through the room, looking back at him.

Until backup arrived, Fischer stationed himself at the corner of the residence.

A short time later, Fralix appeared at the rear screen door and was taken into custody.

Further investigation revealed that entry to the house had been gained through a patio window.

Deputies learned that Fralix had been hired to do yard work for the victims, but they were told he was unable to work that day due to a foot injury.

Nothing appeared missing from the home according to the victims.
