The city staffers who manage the St Augustine 450th Commemoration have come up with a program suitable for smaller organizations who want to affiliate themselves with the city’s upcoming anniversary — short of sponsorship of a major signature event, according to Communications and Resources Manager Jennifer Zuberer.
The City of St. Augustine recognizes the need to utilize the resources, expertise and knowledge of strategic allies. The City of St. Augustine normally provides time, space and knowledge while the alliance organization provides event coordination and funding.
The Alliance Program provides a cross-promotional opportunity — both for the commemoration and the ally. Allies have the opportunity to advertise as a St Augustine 450th Commemoration ally as well as use the official logo.
“The first step to becoming an ally is to fill out an alliance application,” Zuberer told reporters.
While the 450th Commemoration will help promote alliance events on its website, the City of St. Augustine is not financially responsible for those events; which are independent and separate from the St Augustine 450th Commemoration Signature Events. Events coordinated by each alliance are directed by and the responsibility of that alliance.
