Historic City News reporters were told that Dena Espenscheid, a staff member with American Majority, would be returning to St Augustine next month to speak to members of the Saint Augustine Tea Party, according to Espenscheid and Tea Party chairman Dave Heimbold.
American Majority is a non-partisan, non-profit organization leading the battle in training and equipping the next generation of liberty-minded candidates, activists and community leaders.
Espenscheid, who was in St Augustine Friday to attend the Tea Party Express event at Francis Field, told reporters that American Majority believes that national change begins at the state and local level.
“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night … ” say the nation’s letter carriers. Members of the Steering Committee of the Saint Augustine Tea Party say that, although better weather could have drawn a larger crowd, it was important not to cancel the two-bus national tour event.
Pundits, Tea Party representatives, and candidates for local office entertained and motivated those who were willing to brave a brief rainstorm with inspirational music, audio clips from past campaigns, and their own live “stump speeches”.
