Ancient City Auto Club 28th Annual Show

Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind Communications Director, Miki Kristina Gilloon, invited Historic City News readers in St Augustine to relive history when the Ancient City Auto Club brings their annual Car Show to the local campus on Saturday, November 3.

For the fourth year, the historic canopy of moss-draped ancient oak trees that encircles the student classrooms and administration building will provide the backdrop for exhibition and judging of more than 200 cars — ranging from street rods to classics.

“A 1931 Auburn, first owned by Mae West, the popular actress of the 1930’s, has already pre-registered for the event,” Gilloon told Historic City News reporters. “Parking and admission are free, and visitors can enter the school through any campus gate.”

The main entrance to the campus is located at 207 North San Marco Avenue.

Car registration takes place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. — with the show and competitive judging until 3:00 p.m. Food vendors will be available with items for visitors to purchase.

This year’s event is in memory of the late Carl Bowles, Vice President and General Superintendent of W.W. Gay Mechanical, Gilloon said.
